The Sanctuary is encircled by a large water tank and hence Bhuteshwar Temple is also known as Rani Talab. The main idol of Bhuteshwar sanctuary is an icon of Lord Shiva. It’s a unique and unconventional idol since it’s constructed from the white headstone and the hero of the deity has a mortal face. The sanctuary is a splendid illustration of the design greatness of old period. The architecture and plan of the sanctuary appear to be like that of Golden Temple of Amritsar. Bhuteshwar sanctuary remains in the core of a pond or a lake. The sanctuary resembles a flawless image of a blossom in a lake. The lake is known as Rani Talab or the pool of the sovereign which has hallowed water. Devotees take a holy dip prior to taking the blessings of Bhuteshwar Mahadev.There is an intriguing story behind the name Rani Talab. The queen of Maharaja Raghbir Singh used to bath in this lake consistently. Consequently, it is known as Rani Talab. The queen would arrive at the lake through a passage which is as yet present.
